Michelle Brill is a licensed Psychotherapist and Registered Dietitian with more than 20 years of experience counseling pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and families. Michelle received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University and completed her dietetic internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital. In addition to her RD, Michelle holds a Master of Social Work from Fordham University and is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW).

Early in her career, Michelle worked as a Registered Dietitian at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Payne Whitney Westchester, where she offered nutritional counseling to patients diagnosed with medical conditions such as diabetes, cardiac disease, renal disease, obesity, metabolic syndrome induced by neuroleptic medication, and various autoimmune diseases. After serving as staff dietitian, Michelle was appointed Clinical Director of Nutrition Services, responsible for nutrition policy, patient wellness, and hospital menu reform.

After working on the managerial side of nutrition, Michelle returned full time to her passion of clinical practice, ultimately focusing on eating disorders. While providing nutrition care to critically ill eating disorder patients on the inpatient unit, Michelle also participated in outpatient research in Maudsley based treatment and Family Systems, where she provided nutritional expertise in areas of re-feeding significantly underweight patients and providing extensive family education.

After receiving her Master of Social Work, Michelle expanded her scope of expertise and practice to include psychotherapy. She joined the team at the Partial Hospitalization Program at Payne Whitney Westchester in group and individual therapy as well as working in the outpatient eating disorder clinic providing individual and family psychotherapy.

From 2011-2019, Michelle was an Associate in Clinical Psychiatry at the Columbia Day Treatment Program where she worked in the Columbia Eating Disorders Program providing nutrition services and group psychotherapy/CBT based treatment.
​
Throughout the course of Michelle’s work at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia Day Treatment Program, Michelle has maintained a full private practice specializing in anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, emotional eating, and depressive and anxiety disorders.
